Description
As part of the MAIA consortium, CATAG has developed the MAIA Antidepressant withdrawal: understanding and supporting people across the continuum of care practice tool. This practice tool will assist Medicines and Therapeutics Committees to raise awareness about:
- neuro-physiological changes associated with antidepressant use
- antidepressant withdrawal symptoms and how to differentiate from depression relapse
- effective tapering strategies to minimise withdrawal symptoms
- the importance of effective communication for mental health conditions and
psychotropic medications at transitions of care, especially at admission and discharge.
