Empowering consumers: Tools for understanding medicines governance webinar

Effective medicines governance safeguards consumers use of medicines within the hospital system. However, medicines governance is a complex area for consumers. This webinar showcases the shared-decision making tools created to assist health professionals when explaining off-label medicines use, non-formulary high-cost treatments, accessing medicines through medicines access programs and novel and emerging therapies.

  • Dr Eliza Milliken shares her experiences and recommendations on how these resources could be effectively implemented.

At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the foundations of health literacy and recognise its critical role in enhancing patient care and outcomes.
  2. Recognize the importance of consumer involvement in shared-decision making and the use of the CATAG suite of tools.
